Grant Application Guidelines

General Application Information

The Bright House Foundation will consider requests for financial assistance through grants from charitable organizations who strive to fulfill the mission of The Bright House Foundation through a program or service which they provide. In some circumstances, business organizations may apply if the inclusivity is being demonstrated through current activities.

Application Process

Applications are reviewed by The Bright House Foundation Board of Directors in January, April, July and October.

In order to be considered for a grant, an organization must meet the general guidelines and adequate funds must be available at the time of the request. Applicants will be notified of the decision prior to the last business day of each quarter. Upon notification, the requesting organization has 2 weeks to accept or deny grant funds.

Application Deadline

In order to be considered for funding the application must be submitted by December 15th, March 15th, June 15th and September 15th respectively.

Application Format

Each applicant must provide all requested information in a readily understandable format limited to three typed pages.

General Guidelines of Application Information

  • Name of organization
  • Physical address of organization
  • Primary contact information for grant purposes
  • Mission of organization
  • General structure of organization
  • Explanation of program or service provided to community
  • History of the above mentioned program or service
  • Specific purpose for request of funds
  • Amount of funds requested
  • Anticipated date of need for funds
  • Reporting mechanism for use of funds awarded (i.e., progress or enhancement of program or service)
